Miles Lewis is a fine art painter, portraitist, illustrator, and long-time educator. Having worked seriously as a printmaker and taught classes in a full range of 2-D art mediums, he’s settled on gouache painting as one of the most versatile, fastest, least toxic, most forgiving, and easily mixed techniques.
In this 4 hour workshop, Miles will take students through a series of exercises to help them see gouache’s great potential for sketching, multi-media, and producing finished works of art.
Nick Runge is a fine art painter with a specific accomplishment in figurative watercolor work.
This 4 hour masterclass will focus on light and flesh in watercolor painting. Students will be taught about Nick's personal techniques, have their own techniques critiqued and have time for one-on-one interaction with the instructor.
Jason Shawn Alexander uniquely combines expertise as a fine-art painter and a highly inventive comic book illustrator. Through these parallel pursuits, he's developed a remarkable facility for altering, enlivening, and abstracting the figure for the range of graphic and narrative impact.
In this 4 hour workshop, Jason will demonstrate and assist students on the storytelling, graphic design, penciling, and inking of their own pages.
