SUBMISSIONS:

CALLING ALL CURATORS AND ART GROUPS!

Exhibitions represent individual artists, group shows, guest curators, or art collectives throughout the San Fernando Valley and beyond. 11:11 ACC determines selection, dates, and duration of exhibitions. Criteria for selection include but are not limited to: an artist’s/group's resume or portfolio, an appropriate body of work that is compatible with the gallery mission, space, and show curation, and the ability to work with a challenging and changing schedule.

Installation of each show is limited to a maximum of two weeks. Most exhibitions will be given a 5 day window for installation. To insure the completion of installations under this time schedule and allow for necessary gallery maintenance and preparation, 11:11 ACC is responsible for the design, layout and installation of the exhibition. For Guest Curators, the design and layout will be discussed and agreed on before the installation dates.

11:11 accepts submissions from individual artists as well as curatorial proposals from artists/curators residing in the Los Angeles area, with preference to the San Fernando Valley

All work must be original. Email complete submissions to gallery@1111acc.org

Incomplete submissions will be disqualified.

Each submission must include:

  • Visual representations of the artist’s or group’s body of work (up to 20 items only) this should be delivered via a website link or link to Google Drive or Dropbox folder.

  • Artist statement or curatorial statement

  • A resume outlining the artist’s/curator’s career or experience

  • Contact information including:

Submissions will be reviewed regularly. Artists/curators/groups WILL ONLY BE NOTIFIED IF THEIR SUBMISSION IS SELECTED.

11:11 ACC will invite selected artists/curators/groups for an interview. When an interview appointment is made, the artist/ curator/group will be requested to bring visual representation of the proposed artwork or exhibition. 11:11 ACC may arrange to visit the artist’s studio. Final selections will be made after this interview.

Artists/curators/groups who have not received notification are welcome to re-apply one year from their last submission date.

Publicity:

As part of the ongoing publicity for 11:11 ACC, the Gallery sends press releases to local papers and magazines, posts to social media platforms, sends email notifications to our extensive mailing list and prints, posts and distributes postcard announcements.

We encourage guest curators to create and brand their show design including social media and advertising posts. 11:11 ACC will have final say on all exhibtion promotion designs including logos, flyers and ads.  Once flyer design is finalized, 11:11 ACC will print 1000 4x6 flyers and distribute half of those to the guest curator or artists participating in the exhibit.  It is expected that all artists/curators/groups will effectively publicize their exhibition through all means available to them.
